NEW SERIES | Teenage Anxiety
The average teenager has the same level of anxiety as the average psychiatric patient in the 1950's.
Being a teenager of the 21st century, my general anxiety levels are incredibly high. I would blame it on a certain wiring in my brain or whatever, but anxiety is actually a condition, and more than that, it is a way of thinking that you can't control.
I, like so many others, often find myself crippled by intense levels of anxiety. I'm not asking for sympathy, I just want solutions. Then if not solutions, coping mechanisms. I have figured out a couple on my own, regarding things like ever elusive sleep or exam stress. So, if you suffer from anxiety or if you have a friend or family member who does, you might want to keep your eyes peeled for future editions in this series.
Also, I guess that you need to understand anxiety, and even though I am no expert (beyond having it myself), I hope that I will be able to explain it in a way that you might understand.
