Longitude

My first music festival is officially under my belt - and it was an absolute BLAST!

I only went for two days (the Friday and the Saturday) which left me with serious FOMO on the Sunday as all my friends headed off for another day, but I think I soaked up enough fun in the days that I was there!

The first day was a bit of a disaster in parts as the management was all over the place - partly on our behalf but also on behalf of the Longitude organisers. We eventually managed to find our Number 16 bus and we made it to the venue, but when we got there, oh god. The queues were an eternity and it eventually just turned into a squished up mob. The management just gave up in the end and let us ALL through, without checking anyone's ticket or anyone's bag. At the time, I was just appreciative to finally be in - but am that's a safety hazard.

We happily wandered and jammed around the main area for the first day (i.e the main stage) and were treated to the musical wonders of Dua Lipa, followed by some other pretty cool peeps before enjoying the headliner, Stormzy. Now, I would not be a Stormzy fan, and know hardly any of his stuff (except for his feature on Ed's song) but I have to say, I was impressed.

Especially when the Ed song came on - what a bop.

After the wild adventure that was our Friday experience ;) - we decided to have a more chill & organised day on the Saturday, especially since the Weeknd (one of my faves) was headlining. So we got to move around the park (which is absolutely huge) to check out the Red Bull Woodlands and the Heineken stages - where we discovered new acts and new concoctions.. I may now be a fan of Red Bull & Vodka... #rolemodel

And the Weeknd you ask? I have no words. Probably because I used them all up screaming and shimmying along to every single lyric for that precious 45 minute set. I shall be reliving it forever (and screaming the lyrics with the same enthusiasm in my room, shower, car... you get the idea)

Would I recommend going? YES YES YES. But really only if you are in and around my age as everyone over 25 looked incredibly out of place, trust me.

I may even be too old next year lol - but I loved every second with my friends and if I could go back and do it again, I would do so in a heartbeat :)

Zoë x
